palais de tokyo, paris, 12 march 2005
|Palais de Tokyo was constructed in 1935/37 by Dondel, Aubert, Viard and Dastugue. The building is decorated with symbols from greek mythology and bears the resemblance of fascistic architecture.
After major renovation the Palais de Tokyo has again been opened to the public. The place outside the building is today used as a social meeting point and as a skate ground for young people.
About 50 m2 of black cloth from Marché St. Pierre in Montmartre was used to cover the car. The disguise was inspired by a new French law prohibiting Muslim children to use burkas in public schools.
